21-year-old one of six charged in June murders in Guernsey Co.

A Zanesville man, convicted for his role in a June double homicide, was sentenced in a Guernsey County courtroom on Friday morning.
Court records show that 21-year-old Elgin Lamont Mitchell of Zanesville will serve a total of 11 years for his part in the shooting deaths of Christopher Morrison and Justain Nelson. Mitchell was convicted in November of three amended counts: two counts counts of complicity to commit involuntary manslaughter and a single count of complicity to commit aggravated robbery, all of which are first-degree felonies with gun specifications.
Mitchell previously agreed to testify against 21-year-old Deondre Crosby of Zanesville and 30-year-old James Whatley of Columbus, who are believed to have shot and killed Morrison and Nelson in front of a Coventry Estates apartment building, east of Cambridge, on June 24. Crosby and Whatley have entered "not guilty" pleas to charges that include aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.
Three other suspects have been convicted in connection with the slayings: 23-year-old Maigen Blanchard of Cambridge, as well as 20-year-old Anjomo "Boomer" Churchill and 23-year-old Tyler Burrell, both of Zanesville.
