A teenager who pleaded guilty to gunning down three students and wounding three others in an Ohio high school cafeteria has been given three lifetime prison sentences without the possibility of parole.
Before his sentencing on Tuesday morning, 18-year-old T.J. Lane shocked a packed courtroom by cursing at and flipping off the families of his victims and wearing a white t-shirt with the word "killer" scrawled across the front. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported on Tuesday that Lane smiled as the members of the victim's families addressed him. He sat silently as the sentence was read.
Judge David Fuhry sentenced Lane to life in prison without the possibility of parole for multiple counts of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, and felonious assault.
On February 27, 2012, Lane entered the Chardon High School cafeteria and fatally shot 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor, 16-year-old Demetrius Hewlin, and 17-year-old Russell King, Jr.
